PENYFFORDD LIONS have added two trophies to their cabinet in the past 10 days and they may have to make room for another if results go their way in the North East Wales League.
The Lions lifted the Horace Wynne Cup on Saturday and were also victorious in the Premier Cup.
Tonight, they host long-term Premier Division leaders Corwen, who know that they will seal the title if they avoid defeat.
Penyffordd know they must win all their three remaining games, including a final day trip to Corwen, to pip their rivals to top spot.
Rhostyllen, who did set the early pace in the division, complete their campaign at Mynydd Isa, who will aim to bounce back from Saturday’s cup defeat to Penyffordd.
The other games tonight are in the FAW Reserves North Leagues.
Chirk AAA host Porthmadog and Holywell Town have home advantage over Denbigh Town.
The race for runners-up spot in the Tier 3 League continues.
Second-placed Flint Mountain go to Llangollen Town while Rhos Aelwyd, in third, visit fourth-placed Hawarden Rangers.
Brickfield Rangers are also in action at home to St Asaph City.
Holywell Town are just four points away from claiming the Flintshire Youth League Division Two crown.
The young Wellmen picked up a crucial 4-2 home triumph over previous front-runners Rhostyllen.
St Asaph City’s 8-0 thrashing of Borras Park Rangers put them on top, level on points with Holywell.
Jack Baines-Hughes (2), Joe Digby and George Jones got the goals with Ethan Pritchard replying.
Buckley Town beat Broughton United 3-1 thanks to goals from Clayton Sharp, Jac Price and Carter Gordon. Max Roberts replied for United.
In Division One, Ben Griffiths (2), Eryk Osinski, Callum Harker, Adam Thomas, Tomos Williams and Iwan Bennett scored in Coedpoeth United’s 7-3 win against Brickfield Rangers U17s whose scorers were Leo Parker (2) and Jack Jones. Doubles from Luke Farron and George Savage earned title-chasers Hawarden a 5-1 win at Llangollen Town for whom Will Cooke replied. Ryan Evans was Hawarden’s other marksman.
