DOMINANT Northop Hall had to be satisfied with a draw from their latest Liverpool Competition encounter.
Hall were on top with both bat and ball in their home Division Two contest with Wavertree, but they just failed to claim 10 wickets as they were left to pick up eight points from their efforts.
Matthew Jones (60) and Ben Roberts (58) were the leading lights as Northop Hall declared on 211 for nine after 55 overs.
Wavertree then managed to bat out their 52 overs to reach 123 for nine. Nathan Roett (3-30), Will Edwards (2-5) and Roberts (2-28) took Hall close.
Northop Hall Seconds beat Spring View Seconds by 66 runs. David Oultram (61 not out) impressed for Hall.
Chirk were beaten by 154 runs during their Shropshire League trip to Bomere Heath, who cracked 288 all out (Ryan Lockley 112, Isaac Wallace 100, Luke Gardner 5-83).
Andrew Swarbrick (38) top scored in Chirk’s 134.
Meanwhile, Chirk Seconds got the better of Chelmarsh Seconds after setting 250 for four (Gary Bailey 95no, Rob Williams 56). Nigel Davies snapped up 4-7 in Chelmarsh’s 97.
Chester Boughton Hall pipped Neston by 14 runs in a Cheshire County League thriller.
Warren Goodwin (109) helped Hall to 273 for seven and Neston’s response was halted on 259 (Yosuf Ravat 69, Jack Williams 5-38).
