THOMAS WILLIAMS has demonstrated age is no barrier when it comes to achieving major feats in track-and-field.
Williams is a member of Wrexham AAC and he competes in the under-17 age category, but his undoubted talent has come to the fore after he set a new Welsh senior men’s hammer record.
Out in Ireland, Williams launched a new personal best competing in the hammer at the St Abban’s AC open meeting in Carlow.
However, that wasn’t all, as his mammoth throw of 74.30-metres is a new club record and it’s also a new senior Welsh record as well!
This effort eclipsed the previous record mark of 73.89-metres that was achieved by Osian Jones while competing at the 2019 British Championships, in Birmingham.
The record-breaking effort continued what has been a terrific season so far for Williams.
Back in March, he set a new personal best mark of 73.27-metres when he competed at the AAI Spring Throws event at Tullamore.
However, he has now improved upon that mark by more than a metre.
