CEFN ALBION hope to get through an injury crisis to put in a performance at Rhos Aelwyd that will earn them the local bragging rights in the Ardal North East League.
Just two weeks after getting the better of their other near-neighbours Penycae, Albion head to Ponciau Banks tonight.
“It was a tough game at Bow Street on Saturday and with a depleted squad we came up with a decent performance,” said coach Ian Andrews, who at 45, was forced to pull on his boots as an emergency sweeper.
“I played the full 90 myself but these games every three days are taking its toll on the squad and injuries are piling up.
“We will assess everyone and try and patch a few up to get a good starting XI for games against Rhos and then Llanuwchllyn on Saturday.
“The derby against Rhos will be a tough battle and we’ll be looking for revenge after suffering a defeat early in the season.
“We’ll have good support up there and hopefully put in a good performance.”
Rhos boss Gareth Jones said: “We are all looking to our final league game of the season, especially at home against a local side.
“I have added a lot of younger players to the squad for this game, with the aim of providing them with invaluable experience at tier 3 level.
“Declan Molyneux will captain the side again which showcases to others that with the hard work and the right attitude, you’ll get your chance.”
Llangollen Town complete another promising campaign at Llanrhaeadr while Bow Street will go second if they beat Builth Wells at home.
In the North West League, Hawarden Rangers will be relegated along with Saltney Town if they fail to win at Brickfield Rangers.
Saltney host Conwy Borough, Nantlle Vale are at home to Y Felinheli and Llangefni Town go to Llanrwst United.
