STEVE DALE is looking forward to seeing how Liv Fuller develops in Wrexham women’s ranks.
Ex-Wales youth international Fuller made her Reds’ debut in Sunday’s 5-1 friendly loss to Stourbridge at The Rock and boss Dale was pleased with her showing.
Fuller, 26, has signed until the end of the Adran Premier campaign and Dale told the club’s YouTube channel: “It’s been a long journey for her to get on to the pitch. If you’d have asked her, I think she’d have probably said ‘I don’t think it was ever going to come’.
“You know, she had quite a lot of set-backs, but credit to her, she’s been very resilient. She’s worked really hard to get into that position and I think she was impressive in that 30 minutes that she played.
“She looked calm and composed at the back and she was a real leader on the pitch and we’re looking forward to obviously building up her minutes and getting her in these crunch games that are going to be important to us now.”
It was a good run-out for Wrexham ahead of their big Welsh Cup semi-final against The New Saints this Sunday.
Rosie Hughes’ fine second half strike from distance supplied the Reds with their goal.
Flint’s Essity Stadium will host this Sunday’s big cup last-four showdown, ahead of an exciting end to their top flight season for the Reds.
Having secured their spot in the top-four, Wrexham will end their league season with home-and-away encounters with Cardiff City, Swansea City and Aberystwyth Town.
