ST DAVID’S DAY couldn’t have come sooner for Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson, his players and the club’s fans.
By Wrexham’s exceptionally high standards, February was an awful month for the Reds where they took only eight points from the 21 on offer.
Gruelling trips to Gillingham, Forest Green, Milton Keynes and Sutton United were always going to make it a difficult four weeks for the Reds, whose performances haven’t been good at all.
But February’s been and gone and who knows how precious Paul Mullin’s stoppage-time spot-kick at Forest Green on Tuesday will turn out to be?
It was the star striker’s first goal in nine games. His drought is now over and you wouldn’t back against him to go on a scoring run that will push Wrexham back into the automatic promotion places.
And, let’s face it, despite the poor run of results, Wrexham are only one point off the top three and three points off top spot.
We’d have all settled for that position with 12 games to go at the start of the season!
OUR PREDICTIONS:
WREXHAM 2 ACCRINGTON STANLEY 1 NICK HARRISON
WREXHAM 3 ACCRINGTON STANLEY 1 RICHARD WILLIAMS
WREXHAM 1ACCRINGTON STANLEY 1 SHAUN DAVIES
SCORES SO FAR... RICHARD WILLIAMS 38; SHAUN DAVIES 35; NICK HARRISON 35
