PHIL PARKINSON identified three players who could fill the void left by George Evans for the next three games.
Evans has been in excellent form since joining Wrexham from Millwall on transfer deadline day but was shown a straight red card in Saturday's 2-1 win against Colchester United at The Racecourse in League Two and will now serve a three-game ban.
Parkinson will be without Evans for Saturday's Welsh derby at home to Newport County, the Boxing Day trip to Swindon Town and the clash at Walsall on December 29.
Andy Cannon switched to the holding midfield role when Evans was sent off while the Reds' boss can also call upon Tom O'Connor - currently playing in defence - and out-of-favour captain Luke Young until Evans is available for the New Year's Day home game with Barrow.
"George didn't get straight in the team when he came in," said Parkinson. "He had to wait for his chance.
"We have got other players; Tom O'Connor can play in the middle, we have got Luke Young so we have got a lot of options in there.
"I am really disappointed for George but equally, it is an opportunity for somebody else to step in.
"We have got players who are eager to take their chance."
Cannon impressed when he moved from the right of midfield into the centre as ten man Wrexham registered a hard-fought win against Colchester.
"Andy played in that role a lot for us last season," said Parkinson. "He is equally as good playing there.
"He has got the ability to carry the ball as well as passing ability. He can burst past people which is a huge positive for us in that position, he is a good player."
Should Cannon operate in Evans' role then James Jones and Jordan Davies could come into the side for the visit of Newport.
"James Jones was unlucky not to play on Saturday and we have got Jordan Davies so we have got players who are ready to play over this Christmas period," added Parkinson.
