IT’S the age old question. Is it better to have the points in the bag or games in hand?

League leaders Airbus have the points in the bag and they’re six points clear at the top of the standings following their amazing 5-3 triumph over Flintshire rivals Mold Alex, but Mark Allen’s side needed three goals in the closing stages to make sure of their 11th win of the campaign.

Allen’s league leaders have played four games more than title rivals Holywell and Flint, though, and there will be many twists and turns as the race for promotion develops.

Mold, who are enjoying a terrific campaign themselves, opened the scoring after only six minutes.

Good work from Rhys Nash and Matthew Lewis set up striker Danny Warren to give Mike Cunningham’s side the advantage.

Airbus soon levelled via Kaiden Cooke, however the visitors took a lead into the break as Sam Duffy struck right on the stroke of half-time.

Mold keeper Alex Swindell made a fine save to deny Craig Lindfield soon after the restart and substitute Sam Baker hauled Airbus level once more on 72 minutes.

The visitors took the lead for the third time through Keighan Jones’ own goal in the 80th minute, but Airbus responded to turn things around in the closing stages.

Jordan Evans’ strike from 25 yards found the top corner, while Joe Palmer struck from 30 yards to give the Wingmakers the lead.

Oli Lanceley’s stoppage time effort sealed the deal.

It was a good weekend all-round for Airbus as they beat leaders Connah’s Quay Nomads in the FAW Reserves League.

Robbie Jones scored the only goal for the young Wingmakers, who have cut Nomads’ lead to three points.

Gresford Athletic’s Callum Wakefield netted in a 2-1 defeat at home to Denbigh Town while in the Reserves Tier 3 League, Flint Mountain were impressive 4-0 winners at Llangefni Town.

George Woodburn - the brother of Wales forward Ben - hit a hat-trick for Mountain, who moved three points behind leaders Nantlle Vale. Captain Harry Shannon scored Flint’s other goal.

There’s a Flint frenzy when it comes to November Cymru North awards nominees.

Lee Fowler has been short-listed for the Cymru North manager of the month prize, while Josh Jones is a nominee in the player of the month section.

Fowler guided his side to a 3-1 win at Porthmadog before earning an amazing 9-4 victory against Llanidloes Town to finish the month level on points with Holywell Town.

Llandudno’s Jordan Hadaway and Denbigh Town’s Dewi Llion have also been nominated for the award.

Flint forward Josh Jones doubled his league goal tally for the whole campaign by finding the net four times in November.

After his strike helped the Silkmen defeat Porthmadog, he had a hand in five of their goals in the win over Llanidloes Town – scoring a hat-trick and providing two assists.

Danny Holland (Llandudno), Jake Roberts (Mold Alex) and Matthew Worral (Denbigh Town) have also been nominated.
