IT’S take two as far as Wrexham are concerned on Sunday.

Steve Dale’s Reds will host Briton Ferry Llansawel in the quarter-finals of the Welsh Cup, seven days after the Adran Trophy tie between the clubs was postponed due to freezing conditions.

It’s a big reunion at The Rock, with Ferry sure to be seeking revenge after they lost to the Reds 1-0 in last season’s Adran Premier promotion play-off.

Delyth Morgan was outstanding between the posts for Wrexham, while Rebecca Pritchard grabbed the all-important winner.

Meanwhile, Reds’ player Lili Jones says the side has exceeded expectations during their first season in the Adran Premier League.

Wrexham are second in the standings after eight matches and they’ve lost just twice so far this season.

Jones told the This Girl Can Play podcast: “We’ve had a really positive start to the season. I think we set out to get seven points from the first three games and we managed to do that.

“I think we’ve exceeded expectations, really, you know.

“We’ve competed with the top teams, Swansea, not so well against Cardiff City, but, you know, we’re having a really positive start and we’re hoping to take that into Christmas, really.”

Jones has ambitious aims moving forward and asked if playing in the Champions League was the goal, she replied: “Yeah, of course.

“I mean, there’s no point playing in the league without hoping to win it is there?

“But, yeah, Champions League would be brilliant but, you know, realistically we want to be competing in the top-four and we’ll see where we take it from there.”

Teenager Jones has also been looking back, including what she described as the best day of her life.

This came last season, when over 9,500 spectators turned out for the Reds’ Adran North clash with Connah’s Quay Nomads at The Racecourse.

“Unbelievable. It was goosebumps, you know, walking out,” said Jones. “I think we were told before the game there’d be six, seven thousand there and we’re walking out and you’re not seeing a seat. Best day of my life.”

The New Saints have home advantage versus Aberystwyth Town in their quarter-final on Sunday, while Cardiff City travel to Pontypridd United.

Elsewhere, Cascade play host to Swansea City.

Adran North leaders Connah’s Quay Nomads can stretch their advantage to six points if they secure victory at home to Llanfair United.

There are also home matches for Rhyl 1879 and NFA, versus Y Felinheli and Bangor respectively.

In the North East Wales League, unbeaten front-runners Flint Town United will host Berriew.

There’s lots of action lined-up in the Betty Pickering Cup.

In Group A, Northop Hall face a long trek to Llangefni Town and Amlwch Town welcome Welshpool.

Caernarfon Town are at home to Kinmel Bay in Group B, Group C sees Bellevue hosting Denbigh Town and Llanystumdwy visit Trearddur Bay in Group D.

There’s one match tonight in the Adran U19s’ North League with Wrexham at home to The New Saints.

Gareth Taylor’s Manchester City kick off the Women’s Super League action tomorrow with a home game against Aston Villa.

But the big match is on Sunday when Arsenal host leaders Chelsea in a London derby that will be played at The Emirates Stadium.

Champions Chelsea are three points clear of Arsenal heading into the game.

Fourth-placed Manchester United go to Tottenham while Everton are also in the capital to take on West Ham.

Liverpool have home advantage over Bristol City and Brighton host Leicester City.

The third round of the Women’s FA Cup also takes place on Sunday.
