OVERTON U13s made it though to the next round of the Wrexham Junior League Cup thanks to a 5-2 success at Gresford Athletic.

Freddie Wright grabbed a treble for Overton, while Chirk Youth won 6-1 against Brymbo Lodge and FC Llay United pipped Ruthin Town Blues 3-2. Elliott Lewis scored both of the Ruthi n goals in the close clash.

Cameron Hughes helped himself to a hat-trick for Chirk and he was joined on the scoresheet by Findlay Edwards, Keane Williams and Callum Batters.

There were 4-1 victories for Coedpoeth United and Penycae, versus Llay United and Cefn United respectively. Owen Fellowes was in fine form with his three-goal haul for Penycae.

Fellowes also provided the assist for Ethan Jones’ effort.

Borras Park Rangers got the better of Hope Dragons 8-2.

Elsewhere, Borras Park Albion made it through at the expense of determined Ruthin Town. Logan Hay made his mark off the bench by slotting in four goals and there were also goals for Iwan Gilpin, Jacob Mawson Rogers (2), Riley Jones, Max Jones, William Lewis-Jones and Sonny Roberts.

Brickfield Rangers secured a big win away to battling Northop Hall in North Wales Girls’ League action.

Liberty Mullen and Bogomila Stoycheva both struck hat-tricks on the day, while captain Lucy Dutton supplied three assists.
