LOUISHA DORAN says she’s “made up” for Katie Sharp after her last gasp goal sealed Wrexham Women’s narrow Welsh Cup triumph over Llandudno.

Sharp headed in the only goal in the 95th minute on Sunday as Steve Dale’s Reds reached the quarter-finals in dramatic circumstances.

Doran told the club’s YouTube channel: “Made up for her. She deserved that. She’s done well stepping in.

“We all believe in her. She believes in herself.

“She’s fully capable of fulfilling that role. So, I’m happy for her to get the goal.”

It was a family affair for Doran on the day, who came up against her sister Erin in the Llandudno ranks.

“It’s not so much getting one over on her,” stressed Wrexham’s Doran.

“I think she played very well today, being her sister, but obviously I’m happy for us girls to get the win and get us into the next round.”

While Wrexham had the better of things over the course of the last-16 tie, that vital goal just wouldn’t arrive... until deep in stoppage time.

TJ Dickens, making her 50th appearance for the Reds, delivered a corner and Sharp arrived unmarked in the box to head home and spark jubilant scenes.

While pleased with the triumph, Doran says the Reds didn’t reach the levels which have seem them occupy a top-two spot in the Adran Premier League.

“Obviously, chuffed to get the win,” she said. “Regarding the game, I don’t think it was our best performance and we as girls know that.

“Management know that. So, we’ve just got to build and improve and get our heads now focused ready for next week.

“We have to carry on right to the end. Obviously, to get that goal, last minute of the game was very important.

“I think, obviously, our fitness showed, our determination.

“We stuck together. It got us over the line.”

Reflecting on the team’s never-say-die attitude, Doran said: “Their big aspects of the game.

“As girls, we’re a great team. We stick together. We’ve got each others’ backs.

“We know we’re capable of getting the win to the next round. So, yeah, we’ve just got to stick together.”

There’s one match in Adran North this evening as Llandudno play host to Y Felinheli.

In the Central Wales FA Cup, Llanfair United pay a visit to Welshpool.
