WHAT a race for the Cymru North title it’s turning out to be.

Just over a third of the campaign has been completed and there is just three points separating the leading trio.

At the top of the rankings are last season’s runners-up Holywell Town and boss Johnny Haseldin will be looking for his side to preserve their unbeaten record as they host dangerous Guilsfield, who are sixth.

It will be a busy day for Haseldin, as Holywell have organised ‘an evening with the gaffer’ event during the evening.

There’s still likely to be plenty of twists and turns over the coming months and Haseldin stressed: “It’s still relatively early doors. We feel like there’s more to come from this group of players.”

Similar to the Wellmen, Flint Town United are the other unbeaten side remaining in the league.

Lee Fowler’s third-placed side have home advantage tomorrow for their meeting with Llanidloes Town, who are in the bottom-two.

Second-placed Airbus will be aiming to strengthen their title aims as they pay a visit to basement side Chirk AAA.

Although the Wingmakers will be favourites to record their ninth success of the season, team boss Mark Allen is taking nothing for granted ahead of the encounter.

Following the 2-1 home Welsh Cup loss to Briton Ferry Llansawel last time out, he told the club’s website: “Back to the league, which has 100 per cent of our attention now. Chirk are fighting for their lives so it’s going to be a challenge that we will have to be up for.”

Meanwhile, Allen has been praising a man of the match performance from Kaiden Cooke during the Welsh Cup defeat.

“He was excellent and every time he got the ball he made things happen,” said the Airbus manager.

“They did not know how to deal with him at all. He thoroughly deserved the accolade on Saturday.”

Chirk go into the match after a 4-1 defeat to Llandudno, but they did take the lead on the night via Max McLaughlin (pictured above).

In tonight’s action, Denbigh Town pay a visit to Denbighshire rivals Prestatyn Town, while Llandudno have home advantage over Ruthin Town. Tomorrow, Caersws head to Porthmadog.
