NEVER leave a Wrexham game early!

This has been apparent during Phil Parkinson’s tenure with the men’s team, but it’s also the same for the women’s outfit.

The Reds’ Welsh Cup tie at home to Adran North Llandudno was eventually settled in the 95th minute, with Katie Sharp getting the all-important goal.

Wrexham did have opportunities in the first half.

The first of these came from TJ Dickens, who attempted an audacious strike from distance and this was helped over the crossbar by Llandudno keeper Megan Robinson.

The Reds threatened once again when Carra Jones nipped in to intercept a backpass, however her effort ended up just wide of the target.

No breakthrough had been made when Wrexham made a double change in the 57th minute.

Lili Jones came on instead of Libby MacKenzie and Rosie Hughes replaced Ava Suckley.

However, that vital goal just wouldn’t arrive... until deep in stoppage time.

Sharp arrived unmarked in the box to head home.

The New Saints, who defeated Connah’s Quay Nomads in the last round, safely booked their spot in the next round with a comfortable 4-0 triumph over Y Felinheli.

Other results: Penybont 0 Cascade 6; Rhyl 1879 0 Aberystwyth 8; Cardiff City 5 Swansea Uni 0; Pontypridd 17 Aberaman 0.

Holders Connah’s Quay Nomads progressed in the North East FA Women’s Cup courtesy of their 5-1 victory versus NFA in the quarter-finals.

Just a solitary goal separated the teams at the interval and it went in favour of Jordan Parry’s Nomads.

After 25 minutes, Mel Barlow’s corner found captain Kylie Jones, who rose highest to head into the corner of the net.

A hat-trick in the opening 10 minutes of the second half put the tie to bed.

Phoebe Ellis, a half-time substitute, made her mark in stunning fashion by bagging an amazing five-minute treble.

NFA did manage to pull one back midway through the second half via Jade Scott, but the final word belonged to Connah’s Quay.

Excellent work from Amber Bailey set up Ellis for her fourth goal of the half.

In Group B of the North Wales League’s Betty Pickering Cup, Flint Town United defeated Kinmel Bay 9-3.

Zoe Stopford netted four goals for Flint and she was joined on the scoresheet by Ruby McGilloway (2), Tegan Crockett (2) and Rosie Hughes.

Llangefni defeated Welshpool 11-0 in Group A, while Denbigh Town lost 7-2 at Pwllheli in Group C. Berriew claimed a 2-0 Group D win at Trearddur Bay.
