A QUARTER of the clubs left in this season’s Welsh Cup are from Flintshire.
Four clubs from the county made it through to the next stage of the competition following a dramatic weekend of action.
Tier three Flint Mountain saw off Canton Liberal 2-1 to reach the next stage, while Flint Town United defeated Bangor 1876 on penalties.
Also through to the last-16 are Connah’s Quay Nomads and Buckley Town, who beat Prestatyn Town and Llanuwchllyn respectively.
Ardal North East League Cefn Albion have parted company with manager Neil Ashton (pictured above).
The decision was made following Saturday’s 4-1 loss at Llanrhaeadr.
In a post on X, Albion said: “Cefn Albion Football Club has made the difficult decision to part ways with first team manager Neil Ashton, effective immediately. This decision follows a disappointing 4-1 defeat to Llanrhaeadr in the Ardal NE League earlier today.
“We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Neil for his dedication and hard work during his brief tenure at Cefn Albion Football Club.
“We wish him all the best in his future coaching endeavours. The club will commence the process of searching for a new first-team manager.”
