IT is clear to see after watching the most recent episode in series two of the Welcome to Wrexham documentary why Anthony Forde savoured his goal in the 3-0 victory against Yeovil Town in April so much
Forde had been absent because of personal problems but the wing-back made his first start for nearly two months in the huge National League showdown with the Glovers at The Racecourse on April 18.
The 29-year-old broke the deadlock on the hour mark and Wrexham went onto clinch another vital win in the push for the title and promotion to the Football League which was secured in the very next match following the 3-1 home success over Boreham Wood.
In the 'More to life than football' episode of the documentary, Forde, who joined Wrexham in the summer of 2022 from Oxford United, spoke about the difficulties he faced at home after his wife Laura was diagnosed with a brain tumor midway through last season.
When he scored against Yeovil, Forde thanked people for the support he had during a difficult period for him and his family.
"It has been a bit of a crazy period for me and my family," added Forde.
"But I have had amazing support and to get back out there, and get a goal, really felt good."
