BUCKING the trend is a major feature of North Wales Crusaders’ tilt at the play-offs.
Carl Forster’s side saw off Workington and Oldham in knockout ties, despite failing to beat both clubs during the regular League 1 season.
It’s a similar story as Crusaders go to league runners-up Hunslet this Sunday, with a place in the final at stake.
“They have beaten us twice this season,” said player-coach Forster.
“But we are a different side to what we were six, seven, eight weeks ago.
“We keep banging the underdogs drum.
“We are a dangerous team at the minute.”
Tries from Callum Hazzard (pictured above) and Matt Fletcher, plus Toby Hughes’ last-minute drop goal, sealed Cru’s thrilling 13-12 win at Oldham on Sunday.
Hunslet lost out at home to Doncaster.
