IT wasn't the greatest performance - and the sweltering conditions certainly didn't help - but a win is a win as far as Wrexham are concerned.
Phil Parkinson's men dug deep to beat Doncaster Rovers 2-1 in a hard-fought contest at The STóK Cae Ras to register a third successive win in all competitions.
After making it two victory in a row in League Two for the first time this season, success took Wrexham up to seventh in the standings and only three points off top spot.
Luke Young put Wrexham ahead at the break and although Doncaster levelled early in the second half, leading scorer Elliot Lee scored the winner two minutes from time to secure another win.
MARK HOWARD: Had no chance with the goal and had another decent game. 7
RYAN BARNETT: Was a huge threat down the right wing and he had a hand in Young’s opening goal. 8
AARON HAYDEN: Hugely disappointing to see him go off injured. 5
BEN TOZER: Solid display from the club captain who nullified Doncaster’s threat. 7
WILL BOYLE: Did okay and almost scored another goal. 6
LIAM MCALINDEN: It was tough going for utility player McAlinden on his first league start of the season. 5
LUKE YOUNG: Another battling performance from the captain who scored his first league goal of the campaign. 7
TOM O’CONNOR: Wasn’t firing on all cylinders on a difficult afternoon. 5
ELLIOT LEE: Has had better games but the playmaker can always make something happen - and he did with the late winner. 7
OLLIE PALMER: Toiled it the heat and worked hard in attack but received little service. 7
SAM DALBY: Had an early chance to give Wrexham the lead but faded, 5
