JORDAN DAVIES has seen it all during his time with Wrexham but the midfielder still can’t believe some of the things that happen at The Racecourse.

Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney completed their takeover at The Racecourse in February 2021, just half-a-year after Davies returned to his hometown club where he came through the youth ranks.

Davies and the Reds players are preparing for the new League Two season with a pre-season tour in America where the Wrexham are playing four high-profile friendlies,.

And Davies, who hails from Coedpoeth, is delighted with the way the way the actors have put Wrexham on the football map.

“It feels surreal. I’ve gone from playing at Lex, Gresford and Mold, to name a few in pre-season, but to get the quality of Man United and Chelsea out in America is special,” Davies (pictured below)told the official club website.

“It keeps delivering. We might have a quiet spell and then something big will happen to the Football Club.

“It’s absolutely brilliant for the club and all the lads are looking forward to showing everyone what we can do and meet the American supporters.

“I’ve come from rags to riches with the club, and I’m delighted that it’s happened for all the local people associated with Wrexham.

“Day in, day out, there’s lots of US supporters that have come to visit us at the SToK Cae Ras and they’ll know that they won’t be seeing us often and so it is special.”

Wrexham’s profile has risen in America and Davies is relishing playing in front of the new legion of fans.

“The fact that we can come to them and play in America is exciting and we can’t wait to reward them for their support,” he added.

Davies was ruled out of action for three months last season because of a knee injury but is back to full fitness while Billy Waters is also looking forward to more game-time in America.

Waters joined Wrexham in March but only made one appearance as a substitute in the final day 1-1 draw at Torquay with automatic promotion already secured.

“It will be a fantastic experience with some of the teams that we’re playing against,” said Waters.

“I think everyone is just excited to go over there and we’ve got four games while we’re out there; it’s an opportunity to get fitter and minutes in our legs ahead of the league season.

“A lot of people say how big the club is in America. We sampled a bit of that when we were in Vegas, but from a footballing perspective going as a team will be completely different. It’s exciting to see what that’s going to be like.”

Wrexham clinched the first win of their American tour courtesy of a dominant second half display versus LA Galaxy II.

The rampant Reds struck four times in the second period to complete a 4-0 triumph in the City of Angels.

Heading into the second friendly of the high-profile tour following a 5-0 loss at the hands of Chelsea, Phil Parkinson made four changes to the starting line-up.

New signing Will Boyle joined Aaron Hayden, Ryan Barnett and Ollie Palmer in starting.

Jacob Mendy had a 12th minute shot tipped wide by Simon Jillson, while Aaron Hayden and Elliot Lee both had goals ruled out.

At the other end, Axel Picazo threatened when he forced Ben Foster into a low save.

It was just one half of football once more for Foster, who made way for Mark Howard at the interval.

Two minutes after the restart and the Reds had their noses in front.

Paul Mullin played a pass over the top and Andy Cannon supplied the finishing touch.

Wrexham were dominant after this, with Mullin going close with two efforts, prior to Lee making it 2-0 after 55 minutes.

It was pretty much one-way traffic with Ollie Palmer shooting straight at the keeper and Cannon headed wide soon after.

Lee’s brilliant corner was headed against the post by new signing Boyle, but a third goal did arrive after 65 minutes.

Lee’s shot was saved, but Mullin was there to bundle the rebound over the line.

Wrexham changed every outfield player after this, but they were still able to grab another goal to cement their dominance.

Sam Dalby’s initial effort was saved and Anthony Forde followed in to fire high into the net.

Wrexham: Foster (Howard 46), Hayden (Cleworth 66), O’Connell (Tozer 66), Boyle (Hosannah 66), Barnett (Forde 66), O’Connor (Young 66), Cannon (Jones 66), Lee (J Davies 66), Mendy (McFadzean 66), Mullin (Waters 66), Palmer (Dalby 66).
