COVENTRY CITY and Luton Town have battled back from the brink and Callum McFadzean says there’s no reason why Wrexham cannot emulate the duo.

The Sky Blues and the Hatters have enjoyed a remarkable turnaround in fortunes over recent years and the winners of tomorrow’s Championship play-off final will be back in the top-flight.

Luton were playing in the National League alongside Wrexham a decade ago but have celebrated three promotions since ending their non-league nightmare in the 2013–14 season and are on the verge of a place in the Premier League.

Coventry also suffered a fall from grace, dropping from the top-tier to League Two where they found themselves at the start of the 2017-18 campaign, but manager Mark Robins’ has enjoyed huge success since he took over and will be looking to make it a hat-trick of promotions at Wembley tomorrow.

National League champions Wrexham have returned to the Football League following a 15-year absence and are being backed to continue rising through the divisions under Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, and McFadzean says Coventry and Luton have shown anything is possible.

“Luton have been in the National League and Coventry were in League Two a few years ago,” said the wing-back, whose brother Kyle McFadzean will be in the Coventry side tomorrow.

“It just shows you what can be done. Anything is possible at the end of the day, as Coventry and Luton have proved from their stories.

“We just need to keep working hard and take care of our own business.”

McFadzean says the fact that Wrexham beat Coventry 4-3 in the FA Cup third round bodes well for the future.

Phil Parkinson’s men then conceded a last-gasp equaliser in the next round against Sheffield United who secured a hard-fought 3-1 win in the replay and have since clinched promotion to the Premier League.

“We went toe-to-toe with Coventry City and Sheffield United - two very good Championship teams - this season,” said McFadzean.

“We put in some good performances against them and they could both end up in the Premier League.

“It just shows you the sort of things that we could potentially do.”

Luton and Coventry have progressed through the divisions at a rapid rate and Wrexham midfielder Jordan Davies would like to follow suit.

"They are both fantastic stories and ones we can look at and try to replicate," added Davies.

"Certainly in terms of Luton progressing from the National League.

"Rob and Ryan talk about being in the Premier League and everyone has a little giggle, but if Luton do it then it will make everyone realise it is possible."
