CONNAH’S QUAY TOWN are celebrating after lifting the North East Wales League’s Premier Cup.
They eased to a 4-1 win over Castell Alun at Brymbo where Kyle Reid set up all four goals including a third minute opener for Lee Reynolds.
Owen Edwards, Ryan Hewitt and sub Pascal Gomez also scored for Town, who finished the match with only eight players after captain Ben Howarth, Lewis Hodson and Will Leonard were all red carded.
Luca Nardo hit back for Castell for whom Louis Pritchard missed a penalty.
It was a good weekend for Town’s second string too as they triumphed 5-0 at Penyffordd Lions in the Reserves Division.
Sean Williams (2), Andy Jones, Adam Davies and Mark Davies got the goals while Mynydd Isa Spartans’ marksmen in a 4-0 win at home to Llay Welfare were Jay Wiles, Gethin Skates, Kobie Betts and Cameron Anderson.
