WREXHAM are breaking all sorts of records but there's only one prize that manager Phil Parkinson is bothered about.

The Reds secured an emphatic 5-1 win against Oldham Athletic at The Racecourse on Saturday and created history in the process.

Parkinson's men have broken the club record for most ever points in a season after reaching the 100 mark, passing the 98 points gathered by Andy Morrell's side in the 2011-12 season.

It was the 31st victory of a remarkable season, equalling the league record for most wins in a campaign, and Wrexham have set a new record for most goals scored in the division after finding the back of the net five times to move onto 105.

The ultimate aim is to clinch automatic promotion and Wrexham returned to the top of the table, moving three points ahead of title rivals Notts County with a game in hand.

The Reds, now unbeaten in 28 league outings, have six matches remaining and are on course to smash more new records but Parkinson is only interested in the ultimate prize.

"I haven't really paid much attention to those records," he said.

"That is the absolute truth because there is only one prize we want and it is in six games time.

"We are going to give everything to try and achieve it for the club and our supporters.

"We have got a great set of lads who are very focussed on what they have got to do, not just on the match-days but training as well."

Wrexham, aiming to clinch a return to the Football League following a 15 year absence, remain in a fantastic position with four weeks of the season to go but Parkinson isn't getting carried away.

"Of course Notts County would have wanted us to drop points against Oldham, naturally, but we haven't," added the Reds' boss.
