BEN FOSTER has other commitments outside of football but the goalkeeper is fully focussed on helping Wrexham clinch automatic promotion.
The 39-year-old has come out of retirement to join the Reds on a deal until the end of the season.
Since his successful loan spell at The Racecourse in 2005 which earned a move to Manchester United, the former England international has played for Watford twice, Birmingham and West Brom but he announced in September that he was hanging up his gloves.
Foster has a YouTube channel and podcast but it won't interfere with him playing his part on the pitch so that Wrexham win games in the quest to secure the National League title.
“I have other commitments but when it comes to the football-side of it - when I am training or on the pitch - that is my main focus,” said Foster.
“I want to play games.
“I am ridiculously competitive and if I am on the pitch, I am giving it absolutely everything I have got.
“I want to win, I want to stop the ball going in the back of the net.”
Foster played for Watford in the Premier League last season and he was unveiled as a Wrexham player on Thursday.
Despite his break from football, Foster felt in good condition after two training sessions with the Reds and he made his return to action on Saturday as Phil Parkinson’s men beat York City 3-0 to remain three points ahead of Notts County with a game in hand.
Foster, who has been keeping fit by training for a triathlon in May, was told he would definitely start if he felt the body was up to it.
“The manager has been brilliant,” he added.
“Even when I signed on Thursday he said if I wasn’t going to be ready on Saturday and I still felt a bit stiff or maybe if you don’t feel sharp enough to do it, that’s fine, if you don’t want to play Saturday don’t worry, we’ll start next week.

“But I trained Thursday and felt okay.
“I went into training on Friday and felt really good, I felt sharp as well, and I was happy to start.
“Once the game kicks off on a Saturday and the adrenaline kicks in, your on autopilot and you do what you always do.”
