A WREXHAM athlete has achieved a new Welsh record while she was in action across the pond.
Wrexham AAC's Amber Simpson was in Birmingham, Alabama to compete in the USA Jaguar Invitational event.
Representing Memphis in the weight throw, Amber won the competition with 20.81-metres, which is a new Welsh record.
Closer to home, a pair of Wrexham athletes travelled to Cardiff for the Welsh Indoor Championships.
In the under 17 women's section, Lucy Jones leapt 9.90-metres to finish as the runner-up in the triple jump, while she clocked 44.09 in her 300-metres heat.
Meanwhile, Isobel Gunn was in action in the under-20 women's class.
And it was a day of personal bests for Isobel, who claimed two lofty finishes.
She achieved 10.36-metres for second place in the triple jump and clocked 9.55 seconds for third position in the 60-metre hurdles.
Over at Vault Manchester, there was a runners-up finish for Thomas Walley (5.01m) in the pole vault.
Luke Northall took to the start line at the Alsager 5 road race, where an effort of 26.08 saw him cross the line in 16th spot.
As always, parkruns turned out to be popular ventures for Wrexham AAC members.
Mike Robbins (23.25) was 16th at Wepre, with Brian Forster (345th in 60.49) and Alison Forster (346th in 60.51) both competing at Delamere.
There were also a Wrexham AAC vest on show at Alderford Lake, where Charles Ashley was 41st in 30.09, while at Pont Y Bala, Richard Westwood finished 16th in 21.11 and Lucy Morris was 51st in 34.27.
Eight Wrexham racers completed the Erddig event, spearheaded by third-placed finisher Andy Jones (19.22).
David Millington took 18th spot in 23.17 and a personal best of 26.03 saw Rowena Lewis in 40th.
They were followed by Peter Sussex (45th in 26.20), Sarah Grimshaw (74th in 29.01), Philip Walker (76th in 29.22), Karl Moore (94th in 31.38) and Michael Edwards (191st in 59.51).
There's also been an opportunity for the club's younger contingent to shine.
Spencer Jones crossed the line as the runner-up at the Alyn Waters junior parkrun in eight minutes, with a personal best of 9.20 handing Grace Hughes fifth position.
In sixth place was Annabelle Jones (9.49).
