WREXHAM and Blyth Spartans will meet again in a replay at The Racecourse on Tuesday after drawing 1-1 in their FA Cup clash.
National League North side Blyth gave as good as they got throughout the fourth qualifying round tie and had some good chances to take the lead.
However, Tom O'Connor put Wrexham ahead but Blyth scored a late equaliser to set up another meeting between the sides.
Phil Parkinson made four changes from the side that started the epic 7-5 win against Barnet the previous weekend as the Reds' opted to rest some players and freshen it up for the cup tie.
Bryce Hosannah, James Jones, the fit-again Jordan Davies and Sam Dalby came into the team in place of Anthony Forde, Max Cleworth, Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer who were all named on the substitutes bench.
Blyth, buoyed by a boisterous home crowd, made a lively start and after seeing a lot of the ball, created the first chance in the 13th minute.
Cedric Main ran unchallenged into the area and the striker pulled the ball back for Cory McKeown whose shot was cleared off the line by Callum McFadzean.
Although Blyth were on top, Wrexham quickly responded with Dalby's effort hitting the bar from Jones' cross after he combined well with Hosannah.
There was a lack of chances but Blyth almost took the lead in the 37th minute.
The ball was played into the area and captain JJ O'Donnell's header fell inches wide.
Jones then saw a low drive finish the wrong side of the post for Wrexham following Hosannah's pass before the Reds produced their best move of the half.
Jones fed Davies who backheeled the ball to Lee and he played in McFadzean who brought a superb save out of keeper Alex Mitchell.
Hickey fires wide for Blyth with the first chance of the second half.
Wrexham were struggling to make inroads so Parkinson made a double change on 58 minutes with Palmer and Mullin coming on for Davies and Dalby.
Elliot saw a shot blocked by a defender and Ben Tozer was off target with his follow-up.
The two substitutes linked up for a better chance as Mullin crossed into the box and Palmer's close range effort deflected wide for a corner which came to nothing.
Mullin's shot appeared to take a deflection but a corner wasn't given but Blyth weren't far away at the other end as Hickey's dive from just outside the area was parried by keeper Mark Howard.
However, the Reds took the lead after 76 minutes.
Palmer was pulled back on the edge of the area and O'Connor's free-kick deflected off the wall into the back of the net.
Blyth weren't done and a brilliant block by Aaron Hayden denied the home side after a corner wasn't cleared.
But Blyth levelled one minute from time, Michal Richardson's free-kick from the left went straight through the box and found the far corner.
Wrexham had a good chance to reclaim the lead right at the death but a well-placed Palmer fired wide from Mullin's pass, and the teams will meet again on Tuesday.
