WREXHAM got back to winning ways as they triumphed 7-5 in a crazy match against Barnet at The Racecourse.
Phil Parkinson's side saw the eight game unbeaten run come to an end in midweek as they lost 1-0 to Notts County who replaced the Reds at the top of the National League.
However, Wrexham responded by beating Barnet in a high scoring affair in front of a season's best home crowd of 9,987.
It was far from plain sailing but Wrexham went goal crazy to secure the win which keeps the Reds second in the table, one point behind leaders Notts County.
Parkinson made two changes from the side that started the midweek defeat at Notts County.
Both were in midfield as Elliot Lee replaced the injured Jordan Davies and Tom O'Connor was preferred to James Jones, who was named among the substitutes.
Wrexham made the early running and Paul Mullin's shot was deflected wide for a corner.
It was the first of a hat-trick of corners, with the Reds taking a ninth minute lead from the third.
Luke Young delivered the flag-kick which was half cleared but put back into the area by O'Connor and Aaron Hayden fired home.
There was no let-up from Wrexham who were well on top and looking for more goals.
Lee's effort from just outside the area was brilliantly tipped over the bar by keeper Laurie Walker following Anthony Forde's pass and Ollie Palmer only just cleared the bar with a header from Callum McFadzean's cross.
However, Barnet equalised after 28 minutes when Wrexham failed to clear their lines.
Hayden's header fell for Nicke Kabamba whose low drive beat goalkeeper Mark Howard and nestled in the bottom corner.
And the Bees took the lead three minutes later.
Dale Gorman sent in a corner and Harry Pritchard took advantage of poor marking to net with a glancing header.
However, Wrexham levelled on 35 minutes.
O'Connor found the back of the net as his 30-yard free-kick took a huge deflection past Walker.
The goals kept coming and Wrexham went 3-2 up two minutes later.
Lee supplied a superb pass for Mullin who bent the ball around Walker to register his 10th strike of the season.
Strike partner Palmer saw a header blocked on the line from Young's corner but Wrexham remained ahead at the break.
Wrexham made a bright start to the second half and Mullin raced onto Lee's throughout but saw his shot saved by Walker.
But Barnet made it 3-3 in the 51st minute.
Danny Collinge carved open the Reds' defence and Idris Kano slotted past Howard.
However, Wrexham were back ahead three minutes later.
Mullin was brought down in the area by Michael Phillips and the striker converted the resulting penalty for his 11th goal of the campaign.
Wrexham quickly made it 5-3 in the 56th minute.
Captain Young scored with a brilliant long range effort for his first Wrexham goal since May 2021.
It was soon 6-3 after 59 minutes.
Young whipped in a corner and Hayden rose highest to head past Walker and score his second goal of the afternoon.
Lee wasn't far away with a volley that was tipped over the bar by Walker but Wrexham netted a seventh goal on 65 minutes.
Palmer was put through on goal by Lee and the frontman made no mistake.
Ryan de Havilland went close for Barnet and Howard also saved from Sean Shields but the Bees got it back to 7-4 after 76 minutes.
A run down the right ended with a cross than was converted from close range by Kabamba.
Barnet pulled another goal back five minutes from time, Kanu scoring with a fabulous long range effort.
Palmer headed over for Wrexham while Ben Tozer was caught in possession but Howard pulled off a superb save to deny Kabamba with the final chance of an epic contest.
