WREXHAM came from behind to win 2-1 against Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park and go top of the National League.
The stalemate extended the unbeaten run to eight games and took Phil Parkinson's side to the summit after previous leaders Chesterfield lost 2-1 at home to Maidenhead.
The Reds produced a poor first half performance and found themselves behind at the break.
But there was an improvement after the break and Ben Tozer, at fault for the Latics goal, struck late-on to level and Paul Mullin smashed home an injury time penalty to clinch victory.
Parkinson made one change from the side that started the brilliant 6-0 win over Torquay the previous weekend.
Jacob Mendy sustained a hamstring injury in the victory and is expected to be out for six weeks so Callum McFadzean, who impressed when he came on against the Gulls, came into the team as expected.
There was also a place on the substitutes bench for Liam McAlinden who hasn't featured so far this season.
Jordan Clarke fired wide with the first chance for Oldham in the seventh minute while Wrexham responded with Jordan Davies nodding Luke Young's corner back to Aaron Hayden who headed over the bar.
John Rooney - one of three former Oldham players facing the Reds along with Ben Tollitt and Mike Fondop - saw a curling effort fail to hit the target, but the Latics took the lead after 26 minutes.
Fondop caught Tozer in possession and the striker scored with a low drive from the edge of the area.
It remained 1-0 at the break but Oldham got into some promising positions when the second half started.
Tollitt only just cleared the bar with a free-kick while Fondop held off a challenge as he ran at goal but the striker fired wide.
Parkinson made his first change on 59 minutes with Elliot Lee replacing Max Cleworth, and Aaron Hayden saw his volley in the area blocked by a defender.
It was Lee who finally tested Oldham keeper Magnus Norman soon after his introduction with the playmaker's header from Anthony Forde's cross saved by the gloveman.
A decent Wrexham move led to Mullin's shot deflected wide for a corner while Luke Young's drive from outside area was saved by Norman at the second attempt.
Sam Dalby replaced James Jones in the 78th minute while Jordan Davies went close for Wrexham with a good chance as his low right foot shot from inside area fell just wide.
McAliden soon replaced McFadzean and Wrexham made it 1-1 five minutes from time.
There was bit of a scramble following a corner, the ball was played back into the area by McAlinden and Lee laid off to Tozer who fired home.
It got even better for Wrexham in added time when Young was taken down in the area by Mitchell Roberts.
Mullin smashed home the penalty for his ninth goal of the season to make it 2-1 and secure victory.
