ROB MCELHENNEY says he can now enjoy watching Wrexham matches after seeing his club win for the first time.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star McElhenney was at The Racecourse, alongside co-chairman Ryan Reynolds, to see Phil Parkinson's side thrash Maidstone United 5-0 on Saturday.
Since the duo completed their takeover of the club in February 2021, McElhenney previously attended five games and never witnessed a Wrexham win, the latest last Tuesday when the Reds suffered a first defeat of the season at Chesterfield.
That all changed when Wrexham, led by hat-trick hero Paul Mullin, got back to winning ways against Maidstone and McElhenney couldn't be happier. "Wow! It was absolutely incredible. So incredible," said McElhenney.
"It feels like a weight has been lifted and now I can enjoy all the games."
Speaking after the final whistle, surrounded by friends and family, McElhenney continued: "It is amazing, it is overwhelming.
"I brought my family and it is the first time my kids have been here.
"These are all my friends that I grew up with so some of the guys that you see around here with me, I have known since I was 13-years-old.
"They have brought their children here and their families, we have had a great time."
Wrexham have hit the headlines all over the world since Reynolds and Deadpool star Reynolds became owners.
The club's profile will be raised even higher when the documentary series, titled 'Welcome to Wrexham', begins this week on Disney+.
"That's the idea," added McElhenney.
"We hope that people are going to watch the documentary and realise that this is a beautiful town and it is a beautiful club.
"I think we are going to have about three or four million new supporters all over the world, starting next week!
"It is just starting."
Parkinson was delighted to deliver a first victory in front of McElhenney as his National League title favourites bounced back from defeat.
"The owners were here and I am so pleased for Rob," said Parkinson.
"He had all his family over and I am so pleased that we have got the win. I am delighted they have been here and sampled the great atmosphere inside the The Racecourse.
"Rob has spent a bit of time over here and Ryan flew in on Saturday morning to watch the game.
"It shows their passion for the club and I am so pleased for him as well."
