WREXHAM bounced back from a first defeat of the National League season by thrashing Maidstone United 5-0 at The Racecourse.
Since beating Eastleigh on the opening day, Phil Parkinson's side were held to a 1-1 draw by Yeovil before losing 2-0 at Chesterfield on midweek.
The Reds boss wanted a reaction following that poor performance and he got it as Wrexham saw off The Stones - promoted from National League South last term - in front of co-chairmen Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
Paul Mullin led the way with a hat-trick as Wrexham got back to winning ways and made it seven points from the first four games.
Parkinson made four changes from the side that started the Chesterfield reverse.
Two were in the wing-back positions with Anthony Forde and Jacob Mendy returning to the team in place of Bryce Hosannah and Callum McFadzean.
Sticking with a 5-3-2 formation, the other two changes were in midfield as captain Luke Young and Jordan Davies earned recalls, with Tom O'Connor and Elliot Lee dropping to the substitutes bench.
Wrexham made a lively start and Forde's early effort was deflected wide for a corner.
Mullin then had two chances to break the deadlock, the striker seeing a shot saved on the line by goalkeeper Yusuf Mersin from Forde's cross before having a low drive blocked for a corner after Wrexham put the ball back into the danger zone.
Maidstone countered and Christie Pattisson's header from Roarie Deacon's cross was well saved by Mark Howard, but Wrexham took a ninth minute lead.
Young's corner was nodded back across goal by Davies and Mullin found the net with a bullet header from close range.
Mullin immediately had a chance to double his lead after dispossessing Jack Cawley but the striker attempted a chip which went wide with only Mersin to beat.
Ollie Palmer soon had the ball in the back of the net after taking down Howard's long clearance and firing past Mersin with a well-taken finish but the striker was adjudged to have fouled a defender.
Another opportunity quickly arrived as Aaron Hayden headed just wide from Ben Tozer's long throw-in
Wrexham needed to make their dominance count by scoring a second goal and Forde saw his drive saved by Mersin after good work by Mendy.
But the Reds made it 2-0 after 39 minutes.
Palmer headed the ball down into Davies' path and the midfielder's volley from the edge of the area found the back of the net.
Mullin had a chance to score a third goal but the striker was denied by Mersin after racing onto Forde's through-ball.
However, it was 3-0 in added time.
Young sent in a corner and Maidstone defender Joe Ellul put the ball through his own net.
The Reds picked up where they left off at the start of the second half and should have gone 4-0 ahead in the 52nd minute.
Mullin won the ball off a defender and clipped the ball past Mersin but the ball found the side-netting and not the back of the goal.
Davies also headed wide from Mullin's cross at the back post but Wrexham got a fourth goal on 64 minutes.
Young's corner was headed back across goal and handled in the area with Mullin converting the resulting penalty.
Wrexham weren't done and Young's corner fell to Davies who was not far away but the fifth goal came seven minutes from time.
Mullin ran at home and fired home to register his first Wrexham hat-trick.
Lee fires wide before Maidstone had a late chance but Wrexham kept a clean sheet and sealed a welcome win.
