ELLIOT LEE enjoyed a dream debut but the playmaker insists there is plenty more to come from him in a Wrexham shirt.

The 27-year-old joined the Reds in the summer on a three-year contract after leaving Championship side Luton Town but sustained a glut injury in pre-season.

That meant he had to settle for a place among the substitutes for the opening day showdown against Eastleigh but Lee made a huge impact when he was introduced in the 63rd minute.

Lee soon scored a superb equaliser and then bagged a well-taken second goal with five minutes to go as Wrexham came from behind to win 2-1 in front of nearly 9,900 fans at The Racecourse.

"It is an unbelievable feeling and a dream debut," said Lee.

"I couldn't really have asked for a better start.

"Because we were a goal down I thought I might come on at some point. I just tried to impose myself on the game and try to make an impact, and luckily enough for me it worked.

"It was great to play in front of the fans at home and to get off the mark goals-wise was also a brilliant feeling but more importantly, we got the three points."

Lee, who is pushing for a starting place when Wrexham head to Yeovil on Saturday, feels he is nearing full fitness after recovering from injury.

"I joined the lads a little bit later, I got 45 minutes out in Spain and then I just picked up an annoying knock so I missed out on some important minutes," said Lee.

"I am just getting back up to speed now. Obviously I am behind in match fitness and I am just getting my sharpness up.

"That will just come with games.

"I felt fairly sharp out there but there is plenty more to come."
