A FANTASTIC first half performance enabled Wrexham to register a comfortable 4-0 win against Altrincham to keep the pressure on National League leaders Stockport County.
More than 10,000 fans were at The Racecourse to see Phil Parkinson's side clinch another victory to extend the unbeaten run to 15 games in all competitions.
Wrexham remain second in the table and seven points behind Stockport, who beat Solihull Moors 1-0, with six games to go in the race for automatic promotion.
The damage was done in the opening 45 minutes as Wrexham scored four goals without reply.
The Reds' three leading scorers - Paul Mullin with a brace, Jordan Davies and Ollie Palmer - got on the scoresheet and it could have been more in a one-sided opening period.
Wrexham also had the upper hand in the second half but were unable to add to their tally, although the damage had already been done.
Stockport remain in pole position for the title but Wrexham are pushing their rivals all the way and it is still not over.
With Wrexham in such a rich vein of form, Parkinson named the same starting XI for the seventh successive game.
Less than three minutes had gone when the Reds took the lead.
Altrincham struggled to deal with Ben Tozer's long throw-in and Davies fired past goalkeeper Tony Thompson.
Wrexham continued to put the pressure on the visitors and the Reds had a great chance to double their lead when James Jones raced onto Davies' through-ball but the midfielder brought a superb save out of Thompson.
The goalkeeper also came to the rescue when he tipped Mullin's low drive behind for a corner but Wrexham made it 2-0 in the 28th minute.
Luke Young sent in a corner and an unmarked Mullin headed home.
There was no let-up from Wrexham and Davies' flick from Young's corner was brilliantly saved by Thompson.
But the Reds scored a third goal after 33 minutes as Mullin found himself with time and space following James Jones' pass and he found the back of the net with a powerful drive.
Just two minutes late and Wrexham made it 4-0.
Reece Hall-Johnson fed Palmer who fired past Thompson from the edge of the area.
Altrincham responded with substitute Josh Hancock bringing a superb save out of Christian Dibble with the final opportunity of the first half.
Parkinson took the opportunity to freshen things up on 53 minutes with Tyler French replacing Aaron Hayden.
French immediately made a timely interception in his own area but Wrexham remained on top in the second half and Tozer headed over from Young's corner.
Palmer was also off target from Hall-Johnson's pass while Liam McAlinden replaced Davies with 13 minutes to go.
Dibble made two rare saves either side of Dan Jarvis coming on for Mullin, doing well to deny Dan Mooney and Ryan Colclough, while Palmer went close at the other end in stoppage time.
Wrexham never added to their tally but a seventh home game in a row ended with three points and they remain in the hunt for the title.
