SPOT-ON Connah's Quay Nomads held their nerve to once again win the Welsh League Cup.
A tight and tense afternoon in Penybont witnessed a goalless draw in the cup final between holders Nomads and Cardiff Met.
There then followed an amazing penalty shootout, which saw all the players left on the pitch after 90 minutes having to take spot kicks.
In the end, it was Connah's Quay who triumphed 10-9.
Speaking to Sgorio at the final whistle, Nomads' head coach Craig Harrison said: "Obviously very, very happy.
"It's amazing, you know all the penalty takers done great, both goalkeepers done great.
"It wasn't a fantastic game overall.
"I think the last 10-15 minutes we put a lot of pressure on them, but didn't have the opportunity to score, but I'm just pleased to keep the trophy.
"Keep the trophy and take it back home with us.
"It's been a tough time for us with my mum passing away lately and I'm just really pleased."
Harrison always knew it was going to be a tough contest versus Christian Edwards' side and he added: "They're a tough team to play.
"They're young, they're energetic.
"Christian's a very good coach and it's always hard to play against them.
"They've proved lately that they've had a good run of form and they're a hard team to play against, a hard team to beat.
"But you win however you can win and the lads deserved it out on the pitch, fantastic, done absolutely amazing."
Nomads' grasp on the trophy appeared to be over when substitute Jamie Insall missed in the shootout and Emlyn Lewis only had to score his side's fifth penalty to win it for Cardiff Met.
However, Oliver Byrne saved that effort and he was also a key figure to save from Joseph Evans straight after Paulo Mendes missed for Nomads.
Callum Morris scored his second effort in the shootout to make it 10-9, before Eliot Evans struck the post to give the trophy to Nomads.
Chances were few and far between over the course of the 90 minutes, which saw four seasons in a day!
The final was played in a strong wind, with bright sunshine for the second half - and sideways rain in the closing stages.
Nomads went close to claiming a fifth minute lead as a close range volley from Callum Morris clattered the crossbar.
At the other end, Eliot Evans looked certain to give Met the lead in the 28th minute, but Morris denied him with a superb sliding challenge.
Nomads' substitute Jamie Insall forced Cardiff Met keeper Alex Lang into action with 20 minutes remaining.
Insall's header from Neal Eardley's corner was destined for the top corner of the net until Lang got both hands to it.
A glorious chance came with seven minutes left.
A cross from the right found Insall, but his header from six yards went just wide when he should have hit the target.
