IT was another impressive night for the Cymru Premier as Louis Lloyd and Charlie Caton made their competitive first-team debuts for Shrewsbury Town.
Former Connah's Quay Nomads youngster Lloyd replaced Shrewsbury hat-trick hero Shilow Tracey with two minutes remaining, while Caton, son of Bala boss Colin, had entered the action with 10 minutes left on the clock.
The Welsh Schools FA representative teenagers helped Sam Ricketts' Shrews close out a 4-3 success over Dave Artell's Crewe in the EFL Trophy.
Bala boss Colin Caton said: "So proud of my son @charliecaton09 making his first team debut tonight for @shrewsweb @shrewsacademy. Couldn’t be prouder !!!!"
On his debut, Lloyd added: "Happy to get on and make my professional debut."
