CONNAH’S QUAY NOMADS will “give it a go” after being paired with Dinamo Tbilisi in the Europa League second qualifying round.
The draw, made on Sunday, has pitted the champions of Wales against the winners of the Georgian top-flight in a one-legged encounter.
Andy Morrison’s Nomads are set to host Dinamo Tbilisi after they were knocked out of the Champions League by FK Sarajevo.
Defender Callum Roberts can’t wait for a second European tie this summer, saying: “I’m looking forward to it.
“It’s a good competition and we will give it a go.
“We fancy ourselves against anyone, we will go in with a plan as we always do and we will give it a go.”
Nomads have reached the second qualifying round stage of the Europa League on two occasions, the latest last summer as they knocked out Kilmarnock to set up a clash with Partizan Belgrade.
Having gone toe-to-toe with FK Sarajevo, Nomads will be better prepared for what Dinamo Tbilisi have to throw at them, while their encounter with Partizan, who reached the competition’s group stages, is also of great benefit.
Roberts added: “Partizan were excellent. I didn’t think they (Sarajevo) were quite on Partizan’s level, but they were still a very good team. They’ve got individuals who had an impact on games and that only helps sharpen us up for our next match."
Bala Town boss Colin Caton is looking to cause a major shock by beating 10-time Belgian champions Standard Liege.
The Lakesiders reached the second qualifying round after winning 1-0 against Valletta, and Caton insists his side are ready for the Belgian big guns.
Speaking to BBC Sport Wales, Caton said: “A lot of people have said to me this week and since we’ve been back from Valletta that I’ve achieved everything I can achieve, but I don’t think you ever stop achieving, you can always go one better and who knows?
“There’s been a lot bigger shocks than the difference between Bala Town and Standard Liege and who says we can’t cause a shock?
“We are not going there to just make up the numbers and we won’t be going there just to enjoy it.”
The New Saints reward for beating MŠK Žilina 3-1 last week is a trip to B36 Torshavn.
Saints beat the Faroe Islands outfit 6-2 in the Champions League five years ago, now Nomads striker Michael Wilde scoring four goals.
Tottenham have been drawn away to Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
The north London club have never played the Bulgarian outfit, who overcame Iskra Danilovgrad in the previous round.
Rangers, meanwhile, are away to Lincoln Red Imps, and the away theme for British teams continues, with Aberdeen travelling to Norway’s Viking.
Motherwell have been drawn against Northern Ireland’s Coleraine, and go into the match on the back of a 5-1 win over Glentoran.
The Republic of Ireland’s Shamrock Rovers will host former seven-time Champions League winners AC Milan. Rovers qualified for the second round with a penalty shoot-out win over Finland’s Ilves Tampere last week.
