JAKE LAWLOR will be playing in League Two next term after signing for Harrogate Town.
The 29-year-old centre-back spent the last two seasons at Wrexham, where he made 65 league appearances, but he was one of 11 players released by Reds' boss Dean Keates at the start of July.
Lawlor has been snapped up by Harrogate, who clinched promotion to the Football League for the first time in their history by beating Notts County 3-1 in the National League play-off final at Wembley.
Prior to joining Wrexham, Lawlor had a brief spell with Salford City and previously spent five years at Guiseley, and also had time on loan at AFC Fylde.
Harrogate boss Simon Weaver believes Lawler will add quality to his squad for the 2020-21 campaign.
“I’ve liked Jake for years, he’s a good player and to add someone of Jake’s experience still with that hunger to improve is a real lift,” Weaver told the club's official website.
“He’s local, talented lad and will do well here I’m sure, getting the right characters in means everything to us.”
