BARROW'S loss is Wrexham's gain and Scott Quigley is gutted he won't be facing the Reds tomorrow in a huge game for both clubs.
Dean Keates' side, currently 19th in the National League and just two points above the relegation zone with nine games to go, take on leaders Barrow at Holker Street.
But Quigley, who had a loan spell with Wrexham during the 2017-18 campaign, won't be lining-up against his former club as the striker - the division's 20-goal leading scorer - starts a three-game ban after he was shown a red card in Saturday's 2-0 home defeat against Notts County.
Although he was sent off following a dangerous challenge, Quigley insists it was the wrong decision.
"In my opinion, tackles like that happen week in, week out in the Conference," said Quigley. "It is a bit more of a physical league.
"The referee was dying to send me off, I had words with him in the game. But I thought it was a yellow card and you say 'don't do it again'.
"Their players were crowding round him, screaming to send me off, and I knew what he was going to do straight away.
"It summed it up for me when the assessor said he thought it was a 50-50, but now I have got a three-game ban."
When asked if he was disappointed not to be involved against Wrexham, Quigley, who will be back for the top of the table clash with Harrogate on April 1, added: "100 per cent, we are going for something.
"At the time you don't think about it but then afterwards you think 'I'm going to miss the Wrexham game.'
"Then it is the Stockport game which is on TV; another nice one to play in and a big crowd again.
"It has hurt me more than anything but luckily I am back for the Harrogate game.
"But I have got no qualms that we have got enough anyway. We have got some really good players that can hurt anyone in the league."
Although his priority is winning automatic promotion to the Football League, Quigley is convinced Wrexham will beat the dreaded drop.
Quigley left Blackpool in the summer and signed for Barrow despite there being interest from Wrexham, where he feels there is an "underlying issue" following the club's failure to challenge for promotion.
"Dean is a top bloke and I think he has got more than enough to get Wrexham out of the muck," said Quigley.
"I think even if we win this game, Wrexham will still stay up. They won't go down, they have got too many good players.
"I just feel there is an underlying issue past the management staff; by sacking the manager at Wrexham, it is not going to give you different results.
"There has got to be something more underlying which people aren't seeing, maybe in the board. There is something not right there at the moment.
"You have got a lot of players who were there when I was there and we were at the other end of the table."
