Aston Villa v Everton

NICK HARRISON: Defensively they are sound but Everton do need to find the formula going forward. Here’s a good chance to sort that out against a Villa team who are going to struggle back in the top flight this season. 1-2

TOM NORRIS: This one doesn’t scream ‘Villa Park thriller’. Everton are dogged away from home and Villa will be keen to keep the back door shut after some sloppy defensive play in defeat to Bournemouth. One goal wins this. 0-0

DAN HEALD: I worry for Villa. They need points quickly to restore some confidence after a 12-minute defensive horror show cost them dearly against Bournemouth. Everton are yet to concede this season and will fancy their chances against their naive hosts. 0-1

NORWICH CITY v CHELSEA

NH: Lampard needs to be given a lot of time to turn things around at Chelsea. They looked tired in the second half against Leicester but not sure they’re good enough, even at full tilt, to win at Carrow Road. 2-2

TN: Norwich, and particularly goal ace Pukki, have been a breath of fresh air to the top-flight and if they attack Chelsea like they have Liverpool and Norwich, then Lampard’s men could remain winless. 2-2

DH: Pukki’s made the transition from the Championship to Premier League look easy. The Finn’s in ruthless mood but may not be able to inspire the Canaries to three points. Abraham to net in an away win. 1-2

BRIGHTON v SOUTHAMPTON

NH: South coast battles are normally close-run affairs and this will be the same. Trossard looks another good find for The Seagulls and he could add another in a Saints’ stalemate. 1-1

TN: Both teams have been something of a surprise. Brighton have been better than expected, while Southampton have failed to fire. Giving Liverpool a run for their money might spark the Saints. 2-1

DH: Brighton’s solid start has surprised me, but there are some encouraging signs for Seagulls fans under Graham Potter. Southampton showed enough quality against Liverpool to suggest they can take a point here. 1-1

MANCHESTER UNITED v CRYSTAL PALACE

NH: Rashford’s the main man at Man Utd these days. But his body language didn’t look good at Wolves and maybe he’d like to be playing in the striker role instead of Martial. Both should score this afternoon against a poor Palace side. 4-1

TN: Old boy Roy will be plotting how to make life difficult for young gun Ole, and his best chance might be to camp behind the ball because United’s counter-attack if their best weapon. 2-0

DH: United have begun the season positively given their tricky early fixtures. Palace have been ordinary and Zaha looks like his mind is elsewhere after his summer exit strategy failed. Martial on target in a solid United win. 3-0

SHEFFIELD UNITED v LEICESTER CITY

NH: If The Foxes play like they did the second half at Stamford Bridge, then they’ll have no problems in Steel City. Maddison looked good and back Vardy to be the full Monty again and score back in his homeland. 1-3

TN: The Blades will make life tough for visitors to Bramhall Lane with their defensively stable system. Leicester might have a job unpicking the lock. 1-1

DH: Some big calls went against Chris Wilder’s Blades last weekend and they still won. Bramall Lane will be bouncing again, but back the Tielemans-inspired Foxes to spoil the party. 1-2

WATFORD v WEST HAM

NH: Two teams who are desperate for a win. Both have match-winners in their ranks but this gritty affair may be settled by whose defence is best. 2-1

TN: With just one point between them, the opening two weeks of the season have been tough. The Hammers always seem to have injury woes, while the Hornets need to discover their sting. 1-1

DH: You feel the Hornets would take a point to stop the rot. West Ham were much improved for the second half of their stalemate at Brighton, but this one could have the same outcome. 1-1

LIVERPOOL v ARSENAL

NH: The Gunners have improved under Emery but Liverpool love playing at Anfield and there’ll be a feast of goals for Salah and Mane in the tea-time game. 4-1

TN: Arsenal have won both matches without really convincing anyone that they are capable of challenging Liverpool or City, so this is their chance. Liverpool usually relish meetings with Arsenal, especially Salah, Mane and Firmino. 4-2

DH: A great fixture for a Saturday evening. Emery’s made no secret of the fact he dreads facing Liverpool. The Reds have the firepower to dismantle an unconvincing Gunners back line in what should be a lively affair. 3-1

BOURNEMOUTH v MANCHESTER CITY

NH: Got a feeling Mahrez will be the man Pep uses in away games and he and De Bruyne will have far too much for the inconsistent Cherries. 1-3

TN: Sterling loves playing against Bournemouth, and with De Bruyne supplying the ammunition the England ace and Aguero - if he’s made up with Pep - will have a field day. 1-4

DH: City won’t be as forgiving as Villa were last week and Bournemouth will have their work cut out to contain Sterling, De Bruyne and co. Pep’s side will be smarting from seeing a late winner chalked off against Spurs and will hit back in style. 0-4

TOTTENHAM v NEWCASTLE

NH: If Spurs can find Kane after he went missing in Manchester, this could be embarrassing for Newcastle. However, Tottenham don’t always perform against teams they’re expected to batter and Brucie’s boys can’t be any worse than they have been so far. 4-1

TN: Kane got two against Villa at home and it’s hard to see him not finding the net against the Toon Army with Son back available. It could be a long afternoon for Bruce and his boys. 4-0

DH: Starved of service against City, Harry Kane will be expected to fill his boots against Steve Bruce’s Magpies. Expect the hosts to heap more misery on the long-suffering Magpies faithful. 3-0

WOLVES v BURNLEY

NH: Wolves have the quality to be top-six material this season. Europa League football won’t help their chances but Jimenez’s class should be enough to see off Burnley. 2-1

TN: Has 3pm on a Saturday written all over it but for Wolves’ Europa League exploits. Not one to get the juices flowing, but a game the two teams will fancy taking something from. Wolves should have just enough. 1-0

DH: Nuno’s Wolves side have an understated class about them. Buoyed by a deserved point against United on Monday night, they should be too strong for the Clarets here. 2-1
