MATTY SARGENT and Jack Thorn have been sent out on-loan by Wrexham to Cymru Premier League duo Airbus and Newtown respectively.
Sargent made an instant impact at the Airfield, scoring on debut in a 4-0 League Cup success over Llanfair, earning the praise of Airbus assistant Andrew Thomas, who said: "He looked very good and will complement what we have with his energy from midfield."
Both 18-year-old midfielders will be out on-loan until January with Reds boss Bryan Hughes pleased the duo will be getting senior football.
Of Sargent's move, Hughes said: “Matty featured for the first team last season and it’s clear his development has been going well. He impressed during pre-season with the first-team and going to Airbus is the next step.
“We wish Matty all the best during his time in the Cymru Premier. The club will keep a close eye on his progress during his time away from the Racecourse.”
Hughes was equally pleased with Thorn's move to the Robins, saying: "This is a fantastic opportunity for Jack to go out on loan and get some minutes until January at Newtown. It’s a good opportunity for him to continue his development and he can build on being with us for pre-season."
