ANDY MORRISON believes Ross County have been given a significant advantage after Inverness was chosen as the venue for the Scottish Challenge Cup final.
Morrison's Connah's Quay Nomads were always going to have to head north of the border for next month's final (4.30pm kick-off), but the choice of venue plays into Ross County's hands.
Nomads boss Morrison, who hails from Inverness, said: "First and foremost, we're delighted to be in a final - it's a reward for all the hard work put in by the staff and players over four very testing games.
"It will be great to head back to the place of my birth, it's always beautiful in early spring and I understand the reason for the final being in Inverness, but for me, it seems very unfair on our team and the fans that will now have to travel such a distance.
"It gives Ross County, who are already clear favourites, an even bigger advantage as their ground is 10 miles down the road, whereas we'll be travelling around 400 miles.
"But as I originally said, we are delighted to be in the final and can't wait for the opportunity to challenge ourselves against the leaders of the Scottish Championship."
Nomads return to league action tomorrow against Bala Town after being held 1-1 at Barry Town United on Saturday night.
