Connah's Quay Nomads have confirmed that Craig Jones has left the club by mutual consent.
Jones has struggled for fitness since signing for Nomads in late August, the former Bury winger restricted to just four starts and two substitute appearances.
On the departure of Jones, who scored in the League Cup success over Airbus and created Michael Wilde's goal in the Scottish Challenge Cup win over Falkirk, Nomads boss Andy Morrison said: "With work commitments, it has been difficult for Craig to reach the fitness levels we require.
"We thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best going forwards."
It represents a disappointing end to Jones' time at the Deeside Stadium, especially after he expressed his delight at joining the Nomads just under three months ago.
Upon signing, Jones said: “I’m really pleased to be signing for the Nomads and looking forward to playing back in the Welsh Premier League.
"I chose to join Connah’s Quay because the manager showed a keen interest to sign me. The club is also local to my family, friends and I believe we can make a challenge for the title.”
