A POLICE Inspector has called on the public to help with CCTV and dashcam footage after a motorhome was stolen in Wrexham.

The Leader reported on advice from the Wrexham Rural team on Wednesday afternoon following the theft.

Wrexham City Inspector Luke Hughes has now asked any residents who may have footage connected to the incident to come forward.

He said: "We had a bit of activity last night (Tuesday) and we may have an emerging vehicle crime issue.

"To put it in context, we have had two vehicles stolen this week. No need for mass panic, but that’s twice as many as we have had so far this year.

"I really don’t want any more."

He urged people to be "a little more vigilant," adding: "We had a bit of activity across the region last night and sadly a vehicle was stolen from a property in Marchwiel.

"If you were out last night in the area of Hightown between the hours of 7pm – 8.30pm and happen to have any dashcam footage of a Motorhome being driving in convoy with a couple of motorbikes I would be grateful for the footage.

"Or maybe you live on Sontley Road or in the area of Millbank Rise and have your own CCTV, again I would be very grateful for a review as we know the motorhome, which had been stolen and since recovered was in these locations during the time in question.

"Whilst I can’t say it was linked to the motorbike stolen the day before I am concerned it is and I would urge a little extra vigilance whilst the matter is investigated.

"Clearly, I would welcome any information in relation to this overnight activity and this can be reported via 101 or via the NWP chat facility on our website. Please quote 23000091152."
