A SENEDD Member was given a tour of Theatr Clwyd's "fantastic" redevelopment project.
Carolyn Thomas MS was invited to the Mold-based theatre to see how work is coming along on the £50million project.
to create 50 new jobs and pump around £100million into the local economy.
The scheme is setThe new-look Theatr Clwyd will be a fossil fuel-free building, with a range of eco-friendly measures like air source heating, solar power, and rainwater harvesting systems.
On its opening day, it is anticipated that the theatre will have reduced its carbon footprint by 80 per cent and be carbon neutral.
Carolyn Thomas MS said: "It was fantastic to have a tour of Theatr Clwyd and emotional to see the theatre reinstated for the panto.
"There are 180 craftsman and builders working on site and the facility will be finished by June 2025. It will be so much more when it reopens. It is a fantastic example of great partnership investment."
She added: "Just some of the benefits include growing opportunities for apprentices in tourism and catering. There will be a new restaurant and corporate facility with space for up to 260.
"There will be a mother and toddler space, a youth hub, changing places toilet and a special quiet viewing place for people with sensory issues. There will be an outside space and a wonderful viewing gallery.
"The newly named Moon Dance Theatre has reopened for the panto. Well done to all involved - it was so emotional seeing the theatre seating back in."
