THE Post Office are consulting members of the public on plans to relocate a branch in Flintshire to the site of a former bank.

The Post Office is proposing to move Wepre Post Office to - 15 Chester Road West, Shotton, Connah's Quay, CH5 1DF. The branch would be renamed Shotton Post Office.

The proposed premises is the former NatWest bank, which is currently empty. It would undergo a refit to incorporate a cards and stationery store alongside the Post Office.

The current postmaster has identified an opportunity to move this branch into an alternative location to continue to offer Post Office services to the local community and supporting the viability of their business.

Shotton Post Office would still be a main Post Office offering the same range of Post Office products and services.

There would be three serving positions in total: one screened and one open plan and a Post Office serving point at the retail counter.

The new opening hours would be Monday to Friday: 9am – 5pm; Saturday: 9am – 1pm. The branch would close later on weekdays than currently.
