A long-serving Rhos Orpheus Male Choir member has donated £250 to Nightingale House Hospice.

Dave Brown gave the money after being presented with a cheque by his fellow members of the former Rhos Orpheus Male Choir during their final performance in October.

The sum was in recognition of his 30 years of service with the choir.

Mr Brown, a volunteer at Nightingale House, chose to donate the cheque to the hospice without hesitation.

His connection with the hospice began after witnessing the care provided to his late friends and choir members, Keith Phillips and Stuart Wilson, as well as his niece Julia.

Mr Brown said: "Initially, I began volunteering because of the hospice’s care for Keith and others close to me.

"Nightingale House has since become a second home for me and my wife as we volunteer for various events.

"I'm so proud to be a small part of it."

Mr Brown's donation holds a special significance for the choir member, who has devoted his life to community service through music and charitable work.

He said: "The choir has always been so generous in supporting Nightingale, and I’m proud to be able to pass that generosity on."

Jo Kearns, volunteer manager at Nightingale House Hospice, said: "Dave and his wife have been invaluable members of our volunteer family, always willing to give their time and talents to support our work for anything and everything we need.

"Dave's donation will go directly towards the services the hospice provides, helping to support patients with life-limiting conditions and their families."
