A WOMAN from Wrexham is raising funds for her mum after a fire "destroyed" her living room.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to Helen Owen's address in Rhosddu in the early hours of Sunday (November 24) after she woke up to find her living room on fire.
The house was quickly evacuated, with Helen being described as "lucky" due to the fire's proximity to a nearby gas pipe.

Following the fire, Helen's daughter, Chloe Jones has set up a"Mum was woken up around 4.30am to the fire alarm and that’s when they went downstairs and saw the smoke in the living room.
"Thankfully everyone got out safely but her living room is destroyed including her furniture and presents for Christmas.
"The firefighters were incredible and were there so quick, they suspect it could have been an electrical fire. They told mum she is very lucky as the fire was right by the gas pipe.
"I set up the go fund me to help her to pay for day to day things at the minute, as well as then looking more in the long term.
"Christmas is right round the corner as well, there’s just loads of different things it’s going to."

A target of £500 was set on the fundraising page, with over £300 raised so far. In addition, friends of Chloe have conducted raffles, which have raised over £350.
Chloe added: "We’re so shocked by the support, a raffle was set up by a friend with a local business and that raised £200, with another local business raising £150 and donating that straight away.
"Mum was really shocked with all the support, she's been getting really emotional. We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s donated so far."
