FLINTSHIRE County Council has secured Welsh Government safer routes funding for Pen-y-Maes, Holywell.

Following a four-week public consultation in September 2023, a scheme has been drawn up that will see the introduction of traffic calming measures, proposed signal-controlled Puffin (pedestrian) crossings, junction improvements and resurfacing.

Beginning on Monday, December 2 until Friday, February 28, 2025 temporary traffic lights will be in operation for the duration of the works.

Administered by the Transport Department, the Safer Roads Fund is a UK initiative that funds road safety projects to reduce the risk of serious injury and death for all road users. The initiative gives funds to local authorities to implement the necessary steps.

Any queries relating to the works should be directed via the council’s contact centre on 01352 701234.
