A MAIN Flintshire road remained closed this morning (Wednesday, November 27) after a fire destroyed a former hotel.
The incident occurred at the site of the former Elms Hotel on Sealand Road, Sealand, last night.
At the height of the blaze, there were eight fire engines in attendance, as well as an aerial ladder platform and high volume pump.
Residents living near the area were urged to keep windows and doors closed, and people living in Saughall village were contacted regarding low water pressure and discoloured water as a result of the fire service using hydrants in the area.
A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS) spokesperson said the fire has been extinguished, but that the building has suffered "100 per cent fire damage."
Two crews remain on scene this morning damping down - and will likely be there all day.
Sealand Road near the site of the incident remained closed until about 10am, and has now reopened.
No one was hurt in the incident, and a cause is yet to have been ascertained in relation to the fire, NWFRS said.
