Readers of The Leader were asked to name the best place for a delicious hot chocolate in Wrexham and Flintshire?

The question sparked a lively debate on social media with some more and some less serious answers.

One reader, Lorraine Beales, said: "Toast in Wrexham lovely hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows on top; the chi-late is lovely as well."

Debra Webb recommended the new Rackery Farm Shop, saying: "Hot chocolate is delish and you can treat yourself to some goodies while you are there."

Retrograde Wrexham was a popular choice, with one reader, Barry Hughes, describing it as "fabulous."

The café offers two levels of hot chocolate, including a premium option made with Callebaut Belgian chocolate.

For those who enjoy a bit of fun with their hot chocolate, Retrograde also offers old-school games to play while you sip.

Another reader, Catherine Smith, liked the variety that one place had to offer, saying: "Heaven on Lord Street - they do white hot chocolate too."

Victoria Clay likes an establishment that caters to canines, she said: "Pups & Pets , Sandycroft. And dog friendly."

However, there were also fans of larger chains, with Geraint Wyn Jones saying: "Any Costa machine," and Pam Metcalfe stating: "I think the best hot chocolate is from a wild bean café. Costa comes second."

Sonia Hare, also a chain fan, said: "Can't beat a greggs mint hot chocolate."

Simon Dean, who favoured a more frugal approach, said: "The best place for hot chocolate?

"My kitchen—no queues, extra marshmallows, and nobody judging how much whipped cream I use!"

Eddie Stevens agreed, saying: "At home it's cheaper."

The debate clearly demonstrated that when it comes to hot chocolate, everyone has their own personal favourite spot, highlighting the diverse tastes across the region.
