A pre-school nursery has been rated good in all areas by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW).

After receiving its rating, Overton Playcentre invited Ken Skates, Member of the Senedd for Clwyd South, to its premises.

Mr Skates said: "Overton’s a lovely setting and I’m delighted for Rachel and the staff at this extremely positive report.

"It’s been a few years since I was last here, so it was great to see some familiar faces.

"It’s clear that the high levels of leadership, care, and support so evident previously have been maintained and that the children are thriving."

Manager Rachel Harris said: "We are so pleased that the CIW highlighted our team’s strengths, particularly as this month we are celebrating staff member Nicky being with us for 15 years!

"It is particularly wonderful in the light of the current tough issues facing us in the childcare sector."

The centre has recently acquired a piano and is looking for a pianist or former teacher to take some lessons with the children.
