RESIDENTS around the River Dee on the Cheshire/Wrexham border are being warned to implement a flood plan after heavy rain.
The flood warning for the river at Farndon, near Chester, was issued by the Environment Agency on Sunday night at around 5.30pm and is yet-to-be removed.
An EA spokesman has warned residents that flooding is imminent following the heavy rains brought by Storm Bert which wreaked havoc across the UK over the weekend.
They said: “Rising river levels due to recent rainfall and are expected to cause flooding.

“Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the River Dee, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around properties along the English River Dee in Farndon.
“Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
“Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.”
Rain is not forecast until next weekend with the hope that water levels in the River Dee will subside before more wet weather arrives.
