An interactive exhibit teaching children about sustainable living has been launched in North Wales.

The Sustainable Futures exhibit was created by the life skills education charity DangerPoint and funded by a £6,000 donation from the energy-from-waste operator, enfinium.

The exhibit aims to teach children the importance of sustainable living, introducing them to the concepts of reduce, reuse, and recycle.

DangerPoint, an independent charity, provides education on safety lessons and life skills through experiential learning at its activity centre in Talacre, North Wales.

The funding for the exhibit came from the nearby enfinium Parc Adfer facility in Deeside.

The exhibit was inspired by a visit to enfinium's educational visitor centre, which promotes understanding of the waste hierarchy.

DangerPoint's centre manager, Julie Ann Tyler, said: "We are very excited that we could update and improve our Sustainable Futures exhibit thanks to enfinium’s funding.

"The new displays provide a fun and engaging educational experience for visitors to learn about the importance of sustainable living and the role they can play in building a sustainable future.

"We are thrilled to have such an exciting addition to our visitor centre for the local community to enjoy."

The £6,000 funding for the exhibit was awarded as part of a £30,000 enfinium Philanthropic Community Fund for organisations and community groups in England and Wales.

David Cottis, plant manager at enfinium Parc Adfer, said: "DangerPoint plays an important role helping visitors learn crucial skills in a unique and interactive setting.

"We are delighted to have contributed to the revitalised Sustainable Futures exhibit, supporting an initiative that introduces sustainability concepts early and helping empower young minds to understand the role they can plan in protecting the planet."
